Retrieval & search
Extending what can be searched and how agents retrieve it — beyond plain text, and beyond keywords and vectors alone.
Late Interaction Multimodal Retrieval
PlannedToken- and patch-level late-interaction scoring (ColBERT/ColPali-style) across text and image content, for finer-grained relevance than single-vector embeddings.
Geocoding, reverse geocoding & GeoJSON
PlannedTurning addresses into coordinates and back, plus native GeoJSON support, to round out SeekStorm's existing geo proximity search, filtering and sorting.
MCP server & CLI for RAG and agentic search
PlannedA Model Context Protocol server and command-line interface so agents and LLM applications can query SeekStorm indices directly for Retrieval Augmented Generation.
Storage & scaling
Moving SeekStorm from a single, high-performance server towards elastic, cloud-native deployments — without giving up the latency it's built on.
Split of storage and compute
PlannedDecoupling the index backend from the query engine, with two backend options:
- S3 object storage as index backend
- A distributed key-value store as index backend
Elasticity
PlannedAutomatic spawning and winding down of shards in the cloud, scaling capacity with index size and load rather than fixed provisioning.
Distributed search cluster
Proof of conceptExtending SeekStorm's per-core sharding across machines, so a cluster of nodes can serve a single index. Currently at the proof-of-concept stage.
Platform & tooling
Broadening language coverage and making the Rust core easy to embed from any stack, on any target.
More tokenizer types
PlannedJapanese and Korean tokenization, joining the existing Chinese word segmentation and 38-language stemming support.
WebAssembly (Wasm)
PlannedA Wasm build of the SeekStorm library, for running search in the browser, at the edge, or in any Wasm-hosted runtime.
Language wrappers & bindings
PlannedWrapper/bindings for the SeekStorm Rust library in JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, C and Go, so it can be embedded directly in more application stacks.
